This train was viewed in Old Orchard Beach, Maine on its way southbound from Portland to Boston. Notice the power at both ends of the train since there is no space to turn the train around during the trip.
The lead locomotive in the consist is a "dummy," e.g., no power, used for baggage. I think they call it a control car. The powered locomotive is on the back end. Same consist arrangement is used on various Amtrak trains, like the Cascade trains in Washington and Oregon. Again, great video! Thanks!
